Sasikiran holds Cheparinov, Le, Nguyen & Grachev share lead @ Aeroflot Open 2010

Chennai based Indian Grandmaster Krishnan Sasikiran held fancied Bulgarian Grandmaster Ivan Cheparinov to a quiet draw in the fifth round of the Aeroflot Open 2010 at Moscow. Cheparinov, second of former World Champion Veselin Topalov, kept himself closer to theoretical equality, and comfortably drew the Slav game that ran for 22 moves. The draw keeps both Sasikiran and Cheparinov at 3.5 points, half a point behind leaders.

Russian GM Boris Grachev (2653)  joined Vietnamese duo Le Quang Liem, Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son on top of the table with 4.0 points. Middle game errors by Sjugirov saw Grachev snatching the initiative, and sewing up the resultant rook and pawn ending in his favor.
