Sandipan Chanda in play-off for Gibtelecom title

Calcutta based Grandmaster Sandipan Chanda (2622) tied for the top spot in the 8th Gibtelecom Chess Festival at Gibraltar. A final round victory over Georgian International Master Lela Javakhishvili (2493) took Chanda to the top of the table with six other players at 7.5 points from ten rounds.

The Indian Grandmaster along with GMs Jan Gustafsson (Germany), Michael Adams (England) and Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spain) will battle it out in the play-offs for the Gibtelecom title.
