Anand beats Shirov, Kramnik leads 7/10 @ Corus Wijk Aan Zee

Freezing snow and biting cold didn’t deter World Champion Viswanathan Anand taste his first win in the tenth round against Spaniard Alexei Shirov in the Corus Super Grandmaster Chess tournament at Wijk Aan Zee, The Netherlands. Russian Vladimir Kramnik drew with Ukraine Grandmaster Vassily Ivanchuk, moving into sole lead with 7.0 points, with just three rounds to go.

Carlsen won with black pieces against Karjakin, and stayed right behind Kramnik at 6.5 points. Anand, Nakamura, Ivanchuk, Karjakin and Dominguez shared the fourth spot with 5.5 points.

In Group B games, Harikrishna went down to Dutch Grandmaster Reinderman, while Parimarjan Negi drew with Chinese Ni Hua.
